Woman rushed to hospital after dog attack

A woman was rushed to hospital after being severely injured in a dog attack earlier this morning in Kanonkop.

An urgent plea for help was made on the Middelburg CPF group this morning, resulting in emergency services, the SAPS and Titon Security being dispatched to a house in Duiker Street where the attack happened.

According to one of the first responders, the young woman was a tenant on the property where a Rottweiler attacked her.

She was badly bitten and needed to be rushed to hospital by ER 24.

On instruction of the owner, the dog has been put to sleep by the SPCA for the safety of others.

The attack follows precisely a week after a man was mauled to death by two Rottweilers in Dennesig.

Last week Sunday, Sello Andries Mashigo was attacked by the two dogs in the residential area, but was later dragged around by the dogs resulting in his body being found away from the site of the attack.

Mashigo succumbed to serious wounds to his legs.
