Middelburg Dam water level exceeds 99%, sluice gate to open today

Residents should avoid activity near the Klein Olifants River, as a Middelburg Dam sluice gate is set to open today.

The Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (STLM) has announced that a Middelburg Dam sluice gate will be opened today.

Sitting at a water level over 99%, one sluice gate will be opened at 12:00.

STLM has urged precaution, and for residents to ‘move away and avoid activities near the Klein Olifants River’.
