Elderly man escapes death

He was helped by CPF members.

An elderly man narrowly escaped death after a truck struck his car door.

The incident happened on Thursday at around 11:20 on the N11 (Hendrina Road).

He was helped by CPF members.

The elderly man told the CPF that he was driving towards Hendrina when he noticed that his glasses were on the floor mat.

The man was in a state of shock, however, there were no injuries sustained.

He stopped where he thought was a reasonable distance from the main road and opened his door to pick up the glasses.

A passing truck which was allegedly too close to the side of the road hit the elderly man’s door.

The man was in a state of shock however there were no injuries sustained.
