Police not investigating concerning voice note of Kanonkop armed robbery
Mysterious voice note about daylight robbery has residents on edge
Police cannot confirm nor deny that a serious robbery took place in Kanonkop on Wednesday, following a disturbing voice note detailing the alleged robbery being circulated on local WhatsApp security groups.
According to the voice note, recorded by a female identifying herself as Felicity, the robbery took place on Wednesday afternoon in Hibiscus Street, where it links to Gladiola Street.
According to the voice note, the robbers were seen tampering with a substation in the street.
The suspects were traveling in a white minibus, according to the voice note.
A registration number was also supplied, but is being withheld at this time due to police being unable to confirm the incident.
The registration number supplied, did however end with GP.
According to ‘Felicity’ the suspects robbed a passerby in the street, after they were seen tampering with the substation.
According to the voice note, the suspects fled with R2000 cash, and two cell phones stolen from the victim.
The woman on the voice note then also confirmed that the suspects were armed.
Despite extensive attempts ‘Felicity’ could not be traced.
Police confirmed today that no complaints in regards to any Kanonkop armed robbery had been received.
According to police there were only two reported cell phone thefts on Wednesday, with one in Mineralia and the other in Cowen Ntuli Street.
