The lunar eclipse caught in the beginning stages of the shadow phase by Lulu Breedt-Strumpf.
It was a rush between the television set and the total lunar eclipse, with scores of residents having to make an urgent decision between watching our ladies play France or turn their eyes to the sky.

The shadow phase was seen by residents from roughly 18:30 yesterday evening, with the blood moon reaching maximum visibility at around 20:11.

Photography enthusiasts were lucky to capture some stunning photos of the lunar eclipse and have made them available for the Middelburg Observer to publish.
