NEWS: Middelburg pedestrian seriously injured after being struck twice

A pedestrian was critically hurt late this afternoon after being struck by two vehicles on Walter Sisulu Street.

A serious accident occurred just after 17:00 on Walter Sisulu, when a female pedestrian was hit by two vehicles, a VW Polo and a Toyota Hilux.

An alert circulated on the local traffic WhatsApp group moments after the incident, reporting: “Pedestrian hit by a car opposite Built It on Walter Sisulu. Please send an ambulance.”

Emergency responders from ER24 arrived quickly and began treating the victim, who sustained severe injuries. SAPS is also on the scene and is investigating what led to the collision.

Traffic in the area was temporarily affected as authorities worked on scene.
