Welman family thanks the Middelburg community for donations
With the warm hearts of the Middelburg community, the family of Maruis Welman can finally say their goodbyes.
The family of Oom Maruis Welman (57) would like to send out their heartfelt gratitude to all the generous community members who were able to donate towards ensuring he received a dignified send-off.
His sister-in-law, Anette Welman, told the Middelburg Observer that they received immense support from the public and were able to raise funds with their help to pay for Maruis’s cremation.
She further expressed gratitude to Suretha, who assisted the family with designing the programme, and Godfrey Khesa from Everest Funerals, for his assistance with the arrangements, and his kind heart.
Marius passed away last Friday following a short illness. A memorial service in his honour will take place next Wednesday at 11:00 at his home located at 6A Rivier Street.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of support we have received in our time of grief. We hope everyone who assisted will be blessed with more. As a family, we are truly thankful, now Oom Maruis will get a proper send-off,” said Anette.
