Search continues for Mhluzi man who went missing on New Year’s Eve

A search for Mbundla Sibanyoni is currently underway after he disappeared in Somaphepha Village on New Year’s Eve.

The family of Mbundla Sibanyoni (39) is appealing to the public for assistance in locating him after he went missing in the early hours of December 31 from a relative’s home in Somaphepha Village.

Sibanyoni is originally from Extension 5 in Mhluzi. According to his younger brother, France Lukhele, Sibanyoni was visiting relatives in Somaphepha when he disappeared without a trace.

Lukhele said it is believed that Sibanyoni left the house during the early morning, leaving behind his cellphone, bank cards and identity document.

The family described his disappearance as troubling, noting that Sibanyoni always informed relatives of his movements.

Concerns grew when he failed to return home after New Year’s Eve. The family has since opened a missing person’s case with the police and has searched for him at King Nyabela Hospital and Witbank Hospital, without success.

At the time of his disappearance, Sibanyoni was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, and black sandals.

Anyone with information regarding Sibanyoni’s whereabouts is urged to contact France Lukhele on 081 870 1508.

Another man, Sboniso Biyela, a security guard from Mhluzi was reported missing after he never returned home from work on December 17 last year.
