MJR Kwaggas Golf Day supports junior rugby boys

Support junior rugby at the MJR Kwaggas Golf Day, raising funds for equipment, kits, transport, coaching, and youth development.

The upcoming MJR Kwaggas Golf Day is set to raise vital funds to support junior rugby players and strengthen youth rugby development within the local community.

The Golf Day will be hosted on January 30, at the Middelburg Country Club.

Funds raised at the event will go directly towards essential needs for the club’s junior rugby boys, including training and match equipment, match kits, and replacement jerseys, transport to matches and tours, field hire, match-day logistics, first aid, and medical and physiotherapy support.

Additional funding will also assist with coaching resources, referee costs, training aids, and exposure opportunities, such as tours and competitive fixtures planned for 2026.

Organisers say the Golf Day is about more than just sport. The junior teams are coached by dedicated volunteer dads who balance full-time jobs with evenings and weekends spent mentoring young players, helping to develop them not only as rugby players but also as young men.

“This Golf Day is about backing the sacrifices made by our coaches and ensuring our boys have access to the opportunities they deserve,” organisers said. “It gives them the chance to grow, compete, and believe in themselves.”

Supporters, sponsors and local businesses are encouraged to get involved, with organisers emphasising that contributions are an investment in the players, their coaches, and the future of the community.

The MJR Kwaggas Golf Day is expected to bring together golfers, rugby supporters, and community members in a shared effort to secure a stronger future for junior rugby.
