Middelburg Dam sits at a strong 98.64%
Regional catchments led by Loskop and Flag Boshielo dams have crossed full supply levels.
Healthy water supplies have been recorded across the region following the release of the latest Department of Water and Sanitation report yesterday (August 13).
Middelburg Dam leads with a strong level of 98.64%, ensuring a stable water supply for nearby communities.
Nearby, Witbank Dam sits close to full capacity at 99.3%.
Major dams exceed capacity
The major regional reservoir, Loskop Dam, has gone slightly over its maximum capacity and currently stands at 101.3%.
Several other major dams have also crossed the 100% mark.
Flag Boshielo Dam is at 103.1%, and Kwena Dam and Rust de Winter Dam are both sitting at 100.7%.
Nooitgedacht Dam is recorded at 100.67%, Klaserie Dam is at 100.6%, and Blyde, Buffelskloof, De Hoop, Tonteldoos, Vygeboom, and Witklip dams are all filled to around 100.5%.
High levels across the network
The rest of the network continues to hold high water levels.
Injaka and Mkhombo dams both stand at 100.4%, followed closely by Bronkhorstspruit Dam at 100.3%, Da Gama Dam at 100.29%, and Tours Dam at 100.2%.
Even the lowest levels in the report remain high, with Ohrigstad Dam at 93.6% and Vlug Dam at 93.0%.
Overall, these numbers reflect strong water security, though officials still encourage everyone to use water wisely.
