Man missing since March 2024 when he came to look for work in Middelburg

A family from the Eastern Cape is desperately searching for their brother who went missing after travelling to Middelburg for work in March 2024, with no confirmed leads despite a missing person case being opened.

Concern is mounting as the family of a man who disappeared after coming to Middelburg for employment almost two years ago, is appealing to the public for any information that could help trace his whereabouts.

The family of Nkosinathi Sys is urgently seeking assistance to locate him after he went missing in March 2024.

According to his niece, Nompumelelo Ngemntu, Nkosinathi travelled to Middelburg for work purposes and was employed on a Groblersdal farm at the time. After losing contact with him, the family opened a missing person case with the SAPS. However, despite ongoing efforts, there have been no confirmed leads to date.

The family has since heard unconfirmed reports from former colleagues suggesting that Nkosinathi may have been seen at one of the informal settlements in the Middelburg area, but this information has not been verified.

“We are extremely worried and just want to know that he is safe,” said Ngemntu. “Our family is desperate for any information that can help us find him.”

The family is appealing to anyone who may have seen Nkosinathi or knows where he might be to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could assist in reuniting him with his loved ones.

Anyone with information is urged to contact: Nompumelelo Ngemntu on 084 249 0028 or Ntombizanele Sys on 071 501 6029.
