There is R52 200 in prize money available in the Alzu 100 Miler gravel race, which kicks off on July 25 at the Alzu Petroport.
This is a new addition to the 100 Mile series and does not replace the Alzu Tour de Farm, which is held every year in November at the Alzu Petroport.

100 Miler Overall Cash – Men and Women: 1st: R4 000; 2nd: R3 000; 3rd: R2 000; 4th: R1 000; and 5th: R500.
100 Miler Age Category Vouchers – Men and Ladies: 1st: R1 250 off your next Munga entry; 2nd: R500 off your next Munga entry; and 3rd: R250 off your next Munga entry.
50 Miler Cash – Men and Ladies: 1st: R1 000; 2nd: R500; and 3rd: R300.
50 Miler eBike Cash – Men and Ladies: 1st: R1 000; 2nd: R500; and 3rd: R300.

Tobie started as a journalist in September 1975. He was appointed editor of the Middelburg Observer in 1982 where he worked until he retired in 2024. He received numerous awards, is a founding member of the Forum for Community Newspapers and has published two books about his work.
