A little pampering after a hard day’s work

Loskop officials gather at swimming pool

Is hosting a Loskop marathon easy?
No!
Spectators and participants see the beautiful start, nice water points, and an ending to dream about.
Take their bag of oranges and medals and go relax by the swimming pool.

Behind the scenes, there are days and days, nights and nights, of meetings and planning.
Someone has to set up the starting point, someone has to set up the finish.
Water, Coke and ice have to be brought in.
Who takes responsibility for handing everything out at the fire station?
Huge responsibility.
Hard work.

On Saturday night, many tired legs are looking for a soft mattress.
Not the runners who ran 50km, but the officials who handed out oranges and cold wash cloths all day, made sure everyone was safe, the media was happy, and everyone received a medal.

That’s why they deserve a little treat.
The official post-race was hosted, and afterwards, 200 officials hung out together at the cold swimming pool at Loskopdam.
