Infrastructure demise: Why don’t councillors take responsibility?

Mr Mayor, we are waiting for an answer, not an excuse.

Where is the accountability?

Where are the councillors?

Don’t you want us to vote for you in November?

Does the town even have a mayor?

Middelburg’s mayor must ensure that facilities do not deteriorate like this, and if the excuse is, “We don’t have money,” go and look for money from the private sector.

The Kees Taljaard Stadium in Middelburg is deteriorating at an alarming pace. This video was taken inside the commentary-box on the main pavilion. Drug users are regularly found taking refuge inside the box by the local rugby club. #Middelburg #Mpumalanga #rugby

Why were the roads around the Kees Taljaard Stadium painted and all the potholes fixed during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit?

Now you are allowing Asalia Street to look like a 4×4 challenge, and the entrance to the stadium is full of large potholes.

Why was there money then… and not now?

Why was the important parks department budget cut, but there is always money to hold New Year’s Eve parties costing hundreds of thousands of rands?

We, as a community, are waiting for answers!

Not the old excuse about ‘there’s no money’.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
