Caution: Multiple breakdowns on N11 Kranspoort Pass
Several stationary trucks and a passenger bus have been reported on the N11 Kranspoort Pass, outside Middelburg.
Motorists travelling on the N11 through the Kranspoort Pass are urged to exercise caution after several heavy vehicles and a passenger bus broke down at various points along the route on earlier today.
Information shared on local traffic alert groups indicated that a truck came to a standstill on the last bend at the top of the pass shortly after midday. A passenger bus was also reported stranded between the first and second emergency escape lanes.
Services and responders confirmed that mechanics and technicians were on scene attending to vehicles.

A further report at approximately 14:00 indicated that another truck had broken down on the last bend in the direction of Middelburg.
Although no crashes or injuries had been reported, motorists are warned to drive with extreme caution, as the stationary vehicles are situated on a section of road known for its steep gradients, sharp turns and limited visibility.
Drivers are advised to reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance and be alert to the presence of recovery vehicles and personnel working alongside the roadway.
