Bosman Grobler says DA will intervene at Kees Taljaard

DA stadium visit captured deterioration of sports facilities.

The Kees Taljaard Park has been neglected, and residents are unable to use the facilities as a result.

This is what a group of DA councillors found after a visit to the sports facilities this afternoon.

Bosman Grobler, who is the DA’s mayoral candidate for Middelburg, said in a video that is currently being circulated that the DA will make funds available to upgrade and maintain the facilities.

Middelburg Democratic Alliance mayoral candidate Bosman Grobler visited the neglected Kees Taljaard Stadium where facilities are deteriorating at an alaming pace. Major structural upgrades needs to be done on the pavillion which includes the dressing rooms, showers and bathrooms for athletes, like the Middelburg Rugby Club, underneath the pavilion.

The roads around the stadium, which are full of potholes, have also been criticised.

Grobler also said the facilities should be used to stimulate the economy in town.

The Kees Taljaard Park has recently come under fire because the rugby club cannot use it due to floodlights not working, changing rooms being vandalised, a filthy main pavilion, and a lack of basic maintenance.
