And in the blue corner…

DA mayoral candidate Bosman Grobler steps into boxing ring.

DA mayoral candidate Bosman Grobler will make his boxing debut in a three-round exhibition match against Big Leon Bosch at Event City.

Grobler confirmed that the bout will be a once-off event and he will not continue boxing after August 29.
Grobler, a former Tukkies Varsity Cup captain, has also completed several ultramarathons.

After two weeks of training under Steven Pieterse’s watchful eye, he realised what he had let himself in for.

“Boxing is a tough sport, I was dead tired,” said Grobler.

He accepted the challenge to show that politics does not always have to be serious, taking on Bosch in an exhibition fight of three two-minute rounds.
