Laerskool Dennesig’s young athletes have given the school plenty to celebrate, with the U13 soccer team claiming tournament honours and the girls’ hockey team finishing in third place.

The U13 soccer team came out on top at the Never Give Up tournament on July 25, where the players showed skill, discipline and good sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The young players collected medals and certificates after showing their determination throughout the tournament.

Their hard work on the field paid off as they lifted the winners’ trophy, proudly representing Laerskool Dennesig.

Hockey team secures third place

There was also success on the hockey field, with Dennesig’s U13 girls finishing third in the Mabhele and Associates Hockey Tournament, hosted by Middelburg Primary School from July 24–25.

The tournament featured 16 teams, making the bronze-medal finish a strong result for the Dennies’ girls.

The tournament has become a recognised event on the local school hockey calendar, attracting U13 players from schools in and around the area.

The girls returned home with bronze medals after showing determination, teamwork and good sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

With trophies, medals and plenty of smiles, both teams have given their school a sporting boost and shown what can be achieved through hard work and teamwork.
