Middelburg resident finds his Toyota Fortuner stripped of wheels

Overnight thieves target vehicle in residential yard, echoing a similar crime where a car was left on paving bricks in Dennesig.

A Middelburg South homeowner discovered his white Toyota Fortuner stripped of all four wheels and left resting on bricks in his yard this morning.

The vehicle was parked at a residence on Letaba Street when the theft occurred during the early hour
The owner discovered the damage only when he was getting ready to leave for work.

The vehicle had been lifted and placed on bricks after the wheels were removed.

It is unknown how many suspects were involved in the theft.

Video footage captured by the victim shows the aftermath of the theft.

Dennesig case shows pattern

The incident mirrors a theft reported in Dennesig in April 2025, where four wheels were stolen from a Kia Picanto after thieves entered the property and left the vehicle on paving bricks. Tools, diesel and other items were also stolen, and a case of theft was opened at the Middelburg Police Station.

The latest incident again shows how quickly vehicles can be stripped of their wheels while parked on residential property.

No case has been opened at the Middelburg Police Station regarding the latest case of theft at the time of publication.
