Overturned sulphur truck causes delays on N11 Kranspoort Pass

A flatbed truck carrying a cargo of sulphur has overturned on the N11 highway along Kranspoort Pass, scattering yellow chemical residue across the asphalt and guardrails today (August 29).
The incident left the heavy vehicle resting on its side along the shoulder, prompting an immediate emergency response to manage the scene and secure the road surface.
Despite early unconfirmed reports circulating on communication channels suggesting the pass was completely shut down, the route remains open to motorists.
Traffic flow is currently restricted to a single lane managed from both directions, allowing vehicles to alternate safely past the crash site.
Recovery teams and traffic personnel are on-scene to coordinate the cleanup of the spilled sulphur and facilitate the removal of the overturned truck.
