The Mthethwa and Tlou families have expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Middelburg and Mhluzi following the death of their 26-year-old son, Sibusiso Jonathan Tlou (Mthethwa), who passed away on September 8.

Sibusiso attended Zikhuphule Primary School in Mhluzi before furthering his education at schools across the Highveld and Lowveld regions.

He completed his Grade 12 in Mbombela and later pursued tertiary studies in Pretoria.

His family will remember him for his quiet strength, warmth, and lifelong love for football, describing him as a caring presence at home and a dedicated player on the pitch.

Community support brings comfort to family

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mxolisi Mthethwa expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the local community.

“To our family and close friends, thank you so much for being there for us during our beloved son’s passing. Your messages, phone calls, and the time you spent checking on us brought immense comfort to our hearts,” said Mthethwa.

“We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our neighbours and the entire community. Your comforting words, prayers, visits, and continuous support during this painful time have given us strength. Knowing we are not alone means more than words can say. May God richly bless you all.”

Mthethwa added that Sibusiso’s memory will remain a cherished blessing to his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

Family pays tribute to late son

Sibusiso is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Ngwenya, his father, Moses Mthethwa, stepmother Busisiwe Myanga, and his two siblings, Bongi and Thandokuhle Tlou (Mthethwa).

He was laid to rest in Middelburg on September 13.
