The Angelina M Foundation held its inaugural Mpumalanga Annual Pageant Awards ceremony at the Adelaide Tambo Community Hall in Mhluzi last month.

The awards included Best Photographer, Best Designer, Best Coach and Best MC categories.

According to managing director Delisile Ncongwane, the awards received a large number of nominations, aimed at bringing both emerging and established local talent into the spotlight.

She said two outstanding finalists from each category progressed to the final round.

Category winners

Twist Kekana took top honours as Best Photographer, while Lindiwe Ngubeni was named Best Designer and Valentine Buthelezi finished as first runner-up.

Thabitha Malehase won Best MC and Andile Mabena walked away with the Best Coach award.

Angelina Mndebele was recognised with the Young Community Builder award.

“The finalists were formally recognised during the evening’s programme, which showcased the craftsmanship and dedication behind their work,” she said.

Platform to expand in 2027

“Following the success of this debut, we have confirmed that the platform will expand significantly in 2027. Next year’s ceremony is set to introduce a broader line-up of awards to reflect the full spectrum of creative and pageant industry roles, including Best King and Queen, Best Make-up Artist, Best Event Organiser, Best Decoration Company, Best Sound Engineer and Best Hairdresser.”

Ncongwane added that these awards were created to acknowledge individuals whose hard work behind the scenes makes events, productions and creative projects possible.

Community nominations

“As the platform grows, we strongly encourage the community to submit even more nominations for the 2027 edition. Anyone who wants to be part of it or nominate can check our Facebook page for the next opening of nominees in November.”

Ncongwane said anyone can enter and no special requirements are needed.
