Duo arrested after goats recovered in Apel

Two men will appear in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court today after 19 suspected stolen goats were recovered in Apel.

The police nabbed two men found in possession of 19 suspected stolen goats in Apel yesterday (Tuesday).

The suspects are expected to make their first appearance in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court today (Wednesday), facing a charge of possession of suspected stolen livestock.

Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the recovered goats have been identified by the lawful owners.

Ledwaba stated that the breakthrough resulted from a police patrol of the area. “They noticed a suspicious white Mazda bakkie loaded with goats and stopped the vehicle. The occupants failed to provide proof of ownership of the livestock. They were arrested on the scene,” Ledwaba explained.
