Watch or join in when Phoenix Ringball attempt to break world record

The Phoenix Ringball club needs the support of the public when they attempt to break the world record by playing 15 hours of non-stop ringball games.

Phoenix Ringball had a stellar year, with the men’s A-team winning the league and the women taking the second position on the log.

The club also made their mark on the national scene, with Marlies van Niekerk, Jacques Cilliers, Juan van Niekerk and Charlie Groenewald receiving their South African colours, with JP Lotz the team manager.

Van Niekerk was also selected as the SA Junior Player of the Year!

Come and support their world record attempt

The club would like to let everyone know that today (Friday) at 18.00 their attempt to break the record for the most continuous games of Ringball begins at the ringball courts (next to the bowls courts) in Asalia Street in Kanonkop.

• Everyone is welcome to come and join in the excitement. You can even become part of the record breaking attempt, no previous experience required.

• Braai facilities will be available and everyone is invited to bring their meat and cool-boxes and come join in on the action.

• Food and drinks will also be on sale.

• The cost to participate is R10 per person playing.

“This is a great time for everyone to get together and play for over 15 hours in order to break the record. You can bring your dop and chop and enjoy the night until morning. There will be eats on offer and drinks , as well as side competitions and other prizes.”

“We would like to wish all members and the greater ringball family a great Christmas and happy new year may ringball keep on growing.”
