Mayibuye model gives back to the community with food drive

Local model Sarah Dube says she was left heartbroken when not all attendees received food, but vows to continue giving back.

“The food donation drive was great, but the painful part is that not everyone got the food.” These were the words of Sarah Dube (20), from Mayibuye in Midrand, after she hosted a food donation drive on October 11.

Mayibuye Park was filled with both young and old in a bid to get rice, chicken stew, and juice.

Dube, who was crowned Miss Face of Beauty Tembisa 2025 and Miss Indaloenhle 2025 in August, said this was not her first time hosting the food donations drive.

“I do it once in a while, whenever I have something in my pocket. Nothing triggered me. I’m just a giver at heart, not a taker.

“I was recently crowned as Miss Indaloenhle, in other words, Miss Mayibuye 2025, and I am planning on joining Miss Tembisa 2026. I would love to represent my community.”

Dube says she’s not doing anything at the moment, as her focus is firmly on modelling for now. “I have been in this modelling industry for more than a decade now, since I started modelling at school. At first, no one motivated me.

I was just doing it for fun, but currently, since I’m getting good, I feel motivated by Boitshepo Lamolao, our Miss Grand South Africa 2025.”

Dube said she aims to make a difference in the community, through food distribution drives, because this can help bring hope to individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.
