With 2026 on the horizon, Lusanda Mapundo is reflecting on a year that shaped her into a stronger, more purpose-driven version of herself.

The 21-year-old Mayibuye-based model and founder of Miss Face of Beauty Tembisa said this year taught her the true meaning of perseverance and gratitude.

Her biggest highlight this year has been hosting the second edition of her pageant without a single sponsor and still seeing it thrive.

That moment, she said, reminded her that ‘when passion leads the way, everything else falls into place’. Now, she’s ready to build on that foundation as she steps into 2026 with new goals and a bigger vision.

“This achievement is even more meaningful as it opened the door for me to partner with New Jerusalem Children’s Home as a sponsor,” she said. “It showed me how far passion and perseverance can take you.”

As she prepares for the third edition of the pageant next year, Mapundo is focused on building on the event’s momentum and hopes to attract sponsorships to elevate it even further.
