Society for Animals in Distress focuses on 2026 with positivity

As we enter 2026, the Society for Animals in Distress fundraising coordinator says they are planning to sterilise 2 026 animals.

Despite seeing donations dwindling in 2025, the Society for Animals in Distress (Said) continues to look ahead to 2026 with determination and plans to raise more funds for animal welfare.

Based in Vorna Valley, Said experienced a significant drop in donations, making it difficult to execute its mandate of caring for animals last year.

However, Said’s fundraising coordinator, Keshvi Nair, said their goal in 2026 is to raise enough funding to continue their services and to sterilise at least 2 026 animals, preventing suffering before it begins.

“We are working hard through regular fundraising markets: our newly opened events venue, The Dancing Donkey – available for parties and sip-and-paint evenings – and our upcoming annual Golf Day in 2026.

Our 2026 Said calendars are also now available for sale, with every purchase going directly towards keeping animals healthy,” said Nair.

She said funds raised at the markets will go directly toward veterinary care, rescue operations, and educational outreach in impoverished areas, work that remains at the heart of Said’s mission.

Nair thanked their devoted staff and volunteers who give so much of themselves, and to every donor, sponsor, and friend who continues to stand with them, and wished everyone a prosperous New Year.

“Your compassion and generosity are the reason hope still lives here. Happy 2026, filled with happiness and may all your desires be fulfilled,” concluded Nair.
