Suspect arrested in Ebony Park as police seize nine firearms and four stolen vehicles
A Kempton Park robbery investigation led police to an Ebony Park property where nine illegal firearms, including five AK-47 rifles, four stolen vehicles, and ammunition were recovered.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Ebony Park after police recovered nine unlicensed firearms, large quantities of ammunition and four stolen vehicles during a targeted operation linked to a business robbery investigation.
The arrest was made on the morning of July 23 by the Ekurhuleni Task Team while following up information related to a business robbery in Kempton Park.

Police said the investigation led officers to a property on Boshoff Road in Ebony Park, where they discovered an arsenal of illegal firearms and arrested the suspect.


A further search resulted in the recovery of four vehicles that had been reported stolen.
The recovered items included five AK-47 rifles; two 9mm pistols; two revolvers; four vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz, a BMW, and two VW Polos; as well as assorted rounds of ammunition, magazines, and several vehicle number plates.
The Ekurhuleni district commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole, applauded the team for their vigilance and sterling work in recovering the firearms and the stolen vehicles.

The firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to determine any linkages to other crimes committed in the country.
