Acts House dancer takes silver at world dance championship

Simphiwe Ndlovu danced his way to second place at the UDO World Championship in the UK.

The rhythm of success is alive at Acts House of Education, where the school’s thriving dance programme is producing stars from foundation level to elite performance.

The latest triumph came when learner Simphiwe Ndlovu was crowned vice world champion at the prestigious United Dance Organisation (UDO) World Championship in Blackpool, United Kingdom, held from August 13 to 18.

Competing in the fiercely contested U18 intermediate division, where men and women went head-to-head, Simphiwe delivered a series of standout performances across multiple rounds to secure second place on the world stage. “It was an exciting experience. Advice I would share with others who have similar dreams is to give it your all. Push yourself. You don’t know what you are capable of until you try.”

This remarkable achievement is just one chapter in Acts House’s growing dance legacy. For the second consecutive year, dancers from the school have earned spots on the South African national team, while six more learners have already qualified at the provincial level this year – with eyes firmly set on national selection in 2026.

Coach Mahlatse Mabaso beamed with pride, saying: “We are incredibly proud of Simphiwe. He represented Acts House of Education and South Africa with excellence.”

The school’s dance programme offers far more than trophies. Structured training, expert coaching, and regular competitive opportunities equip learners with confidence, discipline, teamwork, and performance skills.
