remix keeps HHP’s legacy alive

MIDRAND – Lerato Sengadi, widow of the late Jabulani 'HHP', Tsambo said that there will always be something new from Jabba, be it music or otherwise.

The remix of a track by Jabulani Tsambo, known to many as ‘HHP’ or ‘Jabba’, has been released posthumously.

The track Nkaofa 2.0 – meaning I can give you’ – featuring rapper and amapiano star Lethabo ‘Focalistic’ Sebetso was released on September 14.

The song is a remix of the late artist’s hit track Nkaofa taken from his album titled Do Not Disturb released back

in 2014. Now, however, the song was executively produced by Tsambo’s widow, Lerato Sengadi, with the help of Thasman, his long-time collaborator.

Explaining how the idea of the remix came about, Sengadi said that celebrating Jabba for the icon and legend that he was and essentially keeping his legacy alive was the whole point of the song.

She added that fans have been asking for years ‘What would summer be without Jabba’, and this has to be the first summer where they do not have to ask for something because she has given something to them.

Furthermore, Sengadi said choosing Focalistic for the song was a natural progression, “He is exactly what Jabba personified and embodied.

“Even when you listen to him, you can hear that he is from the school of Jabba. And I believe for ‘Foca’, this was just a blessing for him.”

Sengadi also mentioned how she would like for the song to be received. “It is two loved artists, who literally are twin flames. I think people are going to love it, it’s a great song.”
