Lucas Raps takes it back to rap
MIDRAND – Luke Molang said that his favourite track off the 10-track offering was South which depicts pretty much a situation that made him who he is today.

Luke Duncan ‘Lucas Raps’ Malong takes it back to rap with his new album, 031 To The World.
The Midrand-based artist had a chat with the Midrand Reporter, explaining what his new masterpiece was all about.

He said while putting together this album, he wanted to take it back to real rap while also presenting who he was, not just as a person but as a musician from Durban.
The rapper added that he had incorporated his uniqueness as well, and had portrayed how different he was as a ‘Durbanite’ compared to what perceptions people had of the natives of the coastal city.

“The project is made up of one collective thing, a timeline of different places where I was and the different mindsets I have had, adding all that into one thing, which was the goal to create the most hip-hop relevant project for my timeline,” he added.

Although the album did not feature other artists, the rapper said that was intentional.
“Not a lot of people shine a light on the producers… So this was just me saying I would rather stand for producers.”
Molang said his favourite track on the 10-track offering was South because the lyrics were pretty much the situation that made him who he was today.

He said people could still expect a lot from him, including videos, however, right now he just wanted people to digest what he had already put out there.

“I am going to be gigging… I want to put together a young tour vibe for all of my supporters and listeners so we can party at our place for a change.”
