This writer often shocks car enthusiasts by stating that even really good road vehicles do not do much for me. A road car is a bit like a toilet – you need it and things get crappy when you do not have one, but it does not do much to accelerate your heart rate. Race cars, on the other hand, represent a singularity of purpose and ruthlessly applied functionality, with few concessions to appearance.
