Motsepe Foundation is ready to make a difference
Motsepe Foundation is ready to make different in different communities in South Africa .

MBOMBELA – People from all corners of the province came in numbers at the
Nelspruit Civic Centre to witness the establishment of the working committee of
The Motsepe Foundation that is aimed to change the lives of many citizens in the
province.
It’s reported that an amount of R500 million has been set side
aside to ensure that the obligations of the foundation is realised – bettering
the lives of the poor of the poorest.
NGO’s and learners who come from very
disadvantaged backgrounds who want to further their studies at tertiary
institutions, are some of the people who are going to be assisted from the
foundation. Ordinary community members and well known people who were coming
from different organisations, including those who were elected such as Pastor
Negrose Manana, Pastor Mica Nthali, Ms Hlengiwe Ngomane and Mr Patrick
Skhosana.
Delivering his keynote address, the chairperson of the foundation,
Mr Patrice Motsepe started by stating that: “I like to indicate that people must
not think that we are giving them loans and we expect them to pay us back as
time goes on, but we are giving them. And to young people, when they complete
their studies, we encourage that they must come back home and plough back their
knowldge here. We will also fund those young people who want to start their own
business,“ said Motsepe.
He said that people who are successful in life have
a huge obligation to help others in society. In order to ensure that all the
money is well spent, Motsepe said he will every year, together with the working
committee, will review progress made and added that before the end of November,
they must start to receive applications and announce those students who applied
for bursaries, as well as the NGO’s who ask for funding.
