Man robbed at gunpoint
A 23-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in Mafambisa on Sunday. According to the police, the complainant alleged that he was inside his house waiting for his wife, when he decided to go and buy a soft drink at a nearby spaza.

TONGA – A 23-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in Mafambisa on Sunday. According to the police, the complainant alleged that he was inside his house waiting for his wife, when he decided to go and buy a soft drink at a nearby spaza.
He further claimed that he used the street which leads him to his brother’s place and saw an unknown man sitting outside his brother’s house.
“The victim approached the suspect and asked him what he was looking for then another unknown male armed with a firearm pointed the victim from behind. They threatened the victim then searched and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on foot,” said Tonga SAPS Spokesperson, Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi.
The police are still investigating the matter and have appealed to the community to stop walking alone at night.
