This is after people illegally invaded the piece of land belonging to businessman and developer, Mr Michael Boyle.

Mpumalanga News has learnt that members of the community were duped to pay between R5 000 and R30 000 for stands opposite the newly built Emoyeni Mall.

On Saturday police had to be deployed in a bid to prevent people from unlawfully occupying the land. The police team was led by Gen Meshack Nongwanya to show just how sensitive the issue was.

According to information at this paper’s disposal, Mr David Nkosi, who led the community to this piece of land, claimed that it had been given to his late brother, Mr Absalom Nkosi by the late farm owner.

Surprisingly, David had no title deeds proving ownership of the land but claimed he had a letter proving it.

On the other hand Boyle, who visited Mpumalanga News offices on Tuesday, produced his title deeds and other supporting documents which also showed that he had bought the land for R11 million.
