Donate and help make this winter warm

NKOMAZI – Winter is almost here, although all of us will feel the cold, but not everyone will deal with it the same. Nkomazi Charity Foundation (NCF) is on a quest to make sure more than 10 families in Nkomazi do not feel the bitterness of winter this year.

The foundation has called on communities to join them in their initiative to give blankets, clothes and groceries to more than 10 destitute families living in Nkomazi.

“We just want to do our bit in ensuring that our fellow community members feel warm this winter as well. God has called us to give, and that is exactly what we are going to do,” said Ms Gail Tshabalala, founder of NCF.

The foundation has given grocery packs to families before, only this time they wanted to do it even bigger.

“It started off as a small initiative. We gave grocery packs to three families in Steenbok on Good Friday. We just wanted those families to cook and enjoy delicious meals just like everyone else.

We did it with the help of our major partners and sponsors, Nkomazi FM, Mpumalanga News, Mvuleni Funeral Services, and Boxer Superstores in KaMaqhekeza. Realising that is has been a great one, we decided we will not stop, instead, we are going bigger,” she said.

It was decided to get the Department of Social Development on board, in their pursuit to continue changing lives.

“I cannot fathom the excitement I feel about the work we are about to do for Nkomazi. I would really like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our main sponsors for helping us make it happen. We are now calling on community members to join us by donating anything that will be usable to our brothers and sisters in need.”

“We urge the people to ensure that the blankets and clothes are washed before handing them over. The deadline for all donations is May 13, and the main event is scheduled for May 15. We will be handing over the parcels in KaMaqhekeza, and we invite people to come and be part of this great work,” concluded Tshabalala.

Anyone willing to donate anything, can contact Ms Gail Tshabalala on 072-044-4769, or Ms Sesane Mabuza on 078-851-9085.

The clothes and blankets can be dropped off at Nkomazi FM studios in Malelane, Mvuleni Funeral Services offices in KaMhlushwa, or Boxer Superstores in KaMaqhekeza and Schoemansdal.
