Orphaned rhino gets a very welcome donation

It was a good day for Care for Wild Africa last Wednesday, when they received a donation of R120 000 from Trans African Concessions (TRAC), to care for orphaned rhino calves.

The donation was officially handed over during the Innibos festivities in Mbombela. The founder of Care for Wild Africa,
Ms Petronel Nieuwoudt, could not contain her happiness when she illustrated to the media, how the sponsorship money would help the rhino in her care.

“They are orphaned and vulnerable, as if that on its own is not enough, they are also endangered. It warms my heart to know that
they will now receive the care they need.

The money will be spent strictly on them, their milk is expensive, and that too, will be covered,” said the ecstatic Nieuwoudt.
TRAC’s devotion to the endangered species is made evident through it generous Focus falls on abuse of drugs donation, and they plan to extend it.

“We have been involved in this for a very long time now, and we have schools around the province. We plan on extending to Nkomazi, around Malelane, just to educate people and let them know that they should take care of wildlife,” said Mr Graham Esterhuysen, CEO for TRAC.

The morning was concluded by both parties’ signatures on the dotted line to officially seal the partnership.
