She whisks her readers away

Her books, of which over 3 000 copies have been sold, were written in the first-person.

MBOMBELA – Journalist and author, Dudu Busani Dube, finally found her way to the capital of the rising sun last weekend to discuss her writing career.

From the dusty streets of KwaMashu in KwaZulu-Natal, Dube made a name for herself after releasing three books, Hlomu The Wife, Zandile The Resolute and Naledi His Love, which took the country by storm.

She says she knew she would publish a book at some point in her life.”When I was in high school, I was rebellious. One day my teacher challenged me to write a piece, which later made me popular at school. She advised me to study journalism, and that was the best advice I have ever received,” she said.

Her books, of which over 3 000 copies have been sold, were written in the first-person. “I did this because I wanted readers to use their imagination.
“The response I have received so far is over-whelming,” she added.
Many say her books easily transport one into the story. She is currently working on a book which will be published later this year.
