Three municipalities to submit report on governance

Three local municipalities in the province have until Friday to submit reports to the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs detailing progress on matters of governance, financial management and corruption.

The municipalities are Victor Khanye, Msukaligwa Local Municipalities and City of Mbombela. The deadline was set by MEC Mandla Msibi after an engagement with them on Tuesday in the Samora Machel building. The engagement sought to diagnose the challenges that municipalities are grappling with the delivery of services. The reports are expected to detail progress in addressing the Auditor General’s findings in the 2017/18 financial year.
