Mpumalanga side Casric Stars top the log

Casric Stars have so far been performing exceptionally well and they are leading the pack in the NFD.

The only Mpumalanga-based side competing in the National First Division (NFD), Casric Stars FC are a force to be reckoned with.

The team is leading the pack in the NFD, also known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons.

Casric Stars FC are the new kid on the block and so far has proven to be a powerhouse.

They have accumulated 36 points in 17 matches played, and registered 11 wins with only three losses and three draws.

They top the log, two points clear of Polokwane City.
Casric Stars FC use the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga as their home ground.
Despite being new in the league they have been on the rampage. They have managed to complete the double over the Limpopo outfit, Baroka FC.

They beat the Limpopo side 2-1 on November 9 during the first half of the race and recently on Sunday February 5 they completed the double over Bakgakga.

If Casric Stars can fight to win the league, they could gain automatic promotion and give Mpumalanga soccer aficionados another team in the top tier, the DStv Premiership, where they could join TS Galaxy.

The communication officer of Casric Stars, Luther Mochabe, said they are only focused on playing great football.
“We are focused on winning the league because that is the ultimate prize. We also want to play football with initiative and put on a show for our fans that is worth their time and money.

We are a new team, but we have lofty dreams and ambitions. We are steadfastly committed to growing into better versions of ourselves than we already are,” Mochabe said.
