Mpumalanga Department of Education appoints team of officials for new infrastructure

The newly appointed officials will play various roles in the delivery of infrastructure in the Mpumalanga education sector.

On Friday March 3, the Mpumalanga Department of Education (DoE) has welcomed five newly appointed officials in the physical resources and facilities management infrastructure chief directorate department.

The DoE said in a previous statement that the resignation of employees was one of the factors that affected the delivery of infrastructure.

These officials will play various roles in the delivery of infrastructure in the education sector. These newly appointed officials are the chief civic engineer, Musa Malumane, the chief electrical engineer, Ndivhuwo Mudimeli, the town planner, Innocent Mdluli, the chief architect, Bongane Madolo, and the architect, Joe Mugisa.

The newly appointed department’s director of physical resource planning and property management is Sindiswa Ndimande, who had started with her duties in the first week of January.

The department’s spokesperson, Gerald Sambo, said, “The new officials will be responsible for, among others, managing the planning and delivery of the infrastructure built, environment programmes and projects in an effort to create a conducive, quality and welcoming teaching and learning environment.”

He said they will investigate proposals for innovative service delivery mechanisms, and undertake feasibility studies and many other responsibilities. “The department wishes the officials all the best in their roles in the delivery of infrastructure for the education sector.”
