Mpumalanga premier congratulates Idols SA winner
In the last ever Idols SA competition, two Mpumalanga contestants battled it out for the number one spot.
Thabo Ndlovu (26) was crowned the winner of Idols SA Season 19. The results were announced live on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) and Mzansi Wethu (DStv channel 163) on Saturday November 4.
Ndlovu and Princess McDonald (24), both representing Mpumalanga, were the last two standing in the competition. He walks away with a massive prize package that includes R1m in cash from Mzansi Magic, a record deal, a brand-new Toyota Vitz and many other things.

McDonald will receive all her live show outfits, plus a fashion voucher, all to the value of R50 000 from Truworths.
Ndlovu is the fourth contestant from Mpumalanga to win the competition. Musa Sukwene won in 2013, Karabo Mogane in 2015 and Zama Khumalo in 2020.
Season 19 is the very last season of Idols SA after 21 years of airing on SA’s TV screens. The Mpumalanga premier, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, and the MEC for culture, sport and recreation, Thandi Shongwe, attended the finale at the Mosaïek Teatro in Johannesburg.

The premier said by winning the title, Ndlovu has registered his name in the galaxy of stars in the music arena.
“We congratulate Thabo for winning such a coveted music accolade in the history of Idols SA. He represents dozens of young people in our province who are standing on the edge to prove their talents,” she said.
“In this year’s competition, two Mpumalanga contestants battled it out for number one. Ndlovu faced McDonald of Bushbuckridge Local Municipality. Even though Ndlovu is the ultimate winner, McDonald proved herself to be a winner in her own right. She too is a winner because of her hard work and dedication, which has brought her to the second position,” said Mtshweni-Tsipane.
