Hazyview artist drops new song with renowned musician, MarazA

"Shova" is an inspirational song that the musicians worked on for a month. It has received recognition from an American YouTuber.

An award-winning young musician who is taking over the local music industry, Glen Matsane, stage name Brailo, has a new song titled “Shova” in collabaration with renowned South African musician, MarazA, real name Sphamandla Mhlongo.

The song dropped late in 2023 and Matsane said it has been received very well on social media platforms. “The song is about hustling. ‘Shova’ means to push. Every journey pursued requires hard work in order to achieve a dream. In the song, I also recognise and thank God for being with me since the beginning of my music career at 15 years of age. MarazA and I have always wanted to make a song together since our encounter when he reviewed my Siswati rapping skills on some of my songs in 2020,” he said.

The time finally came and they worked on the song, and did it in just a month. “He sent me the beat with his verse, I wrote and recorded my verses and hooked up with my producer and sent it back to him. This song came at a time when I was searching for a fresh musical sound to incorporate into my rap/hip-hop music. The song is groovy, while it carries a strong message.”

Although he could not let on about possible projects with the renowned artist, Matsane said he would love to get an opportunity to be in the same studio with MarazA to make some more music.

“An associate in the music industry introduced the song to Mansa Mayne. I was so excited about this, because I am an avid fan of his. I take this as a global recognition, and it means a lot for an artist in Mpumalanga to be recognised by him, and also MarazA,” he said.
