Three men shot dead in Tweefontein tavern
The Mpumalanga police said they are investigating a shooting in a tavern, and that a 72-hour mobilisation plan has been initiated.
Three people were killed during a shooting in a tavern in Tweefontein on Sunday March 3. A provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said the Mpumalanga SAPS management is currently seeking these suspects involved.
“According to information, two men carrying high-calibre firearms entered the tavern during opening time. The armed suspects opened fire indiscriminately, and three male victims were shot and sustained serious injuries. The paramedics and police arrived and the three males, aged 36, 43 and 50, were certified dead by the medical personnel,” said Mdhluli.

“The police are investigating three counts of murder. So far, no one has been arrested. A 72-hour mobilisation plan has been initiated, and a team of experts in the investigation area was created with the intention of tracking down the suspects. The victims, who are known to the SAPS, have not yet been formally identified by their families and the motive for the shooting is currently unknown.

“Anyone with information should call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send information via the My SAPS app. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous,” said Mdhluli.
