TS Galaxy Queens trio in Morocco for Banyana Banyana duties

Banyana Banyana will play their opening game of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations against Ghana.

TS Galaxy Queens FC’s match against First Touch Ladies FC in the Hollywoodbets Super League was postponed due to three Queens players being called up to fulfil their duties in the national women’s team.

The game was scheduled for 15:00 on Saturday, June 21, at KaNyamazane Stadium. Two Queens players, Refiloe Jane and Dineo Magagula, have been selected for the Banyana Banyana squad competing in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, while Lesego Moeng will represent Botswana in the tournament.

In a statement published on their Facebook page, TS Galaxy Queens acknowledged the co-operation and understanding of First Touch Ladies FC. The club wished all three players well on national duty and pledged their full support.

The Queens have performed exceptionally well in the league, recording wins in all home games at KaNyamazane Stadium. They are second on the log with 27 points, having won eight games, drawn three, and lost only one.

A new date and time for the postponed match have not yet been announced. Banyana Banyana are in Group C alongside Ghana, Tanzania, and Mali for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Their first game will be against Ghana on Monday, July 7, at 18:00. Their second game is scheduled for July 11 against Tanzania at 21:00, and the third against Mali on July 14 at 21:00.

All matches will be played at the Honneur Stadium in Morocco.
