Two Mbombela students awarded Silulumanzi bursaries
The Silulumanzi bursary will cover tuition fees, materials and accommodation, and includes a stipend.
Silulumanzi has announced this year’s recipients of two tertiary studies bursaries.
Nokwanda Xulu, from KaMagugu, will be pursuing a degree in chemical engineering at WITS, and Buhle Ngomane, from Pienaar, will be studying for a BSc in environmental health at the University of Johannesburg.
Silulumanzi group managing director Shyam Misra said the bursaries will cover full tuition, registration, accommodation, books, stationery fees, and a monthly stipend.
He added that the initiative is part of the organisation’s mission to improve lives and create opportunities for future generations.

“Silulumanzi’s Bursary Fund continues to make a significant impact by empowering students to succeed, both academically and professionally. The programme is the company’s commitment to education, skill development, and community empowerment. Moving forward, we remain dedicated to expanding this initiative and helping more students realise their full potential,” said Misra.
Ngomane told Lowvelder that she is thrilled to have been selected and promised to continue excelling in her studies, just as she did in Grade 12.

“Since I don’t have to stress about where my family would find the money to pay my fees, I can focus fully on my studies and make them proud. I would like to thank Silulumanzi for awarding me the bursary. I promise to do well and come back to serve my community to ensure we live in a clean environment.”
Xulu said she is over the moon that her dream of becoming an engineer is being realised.
“I am so happy that I don’t have to worry about money and can give my full attention to my studies. I am already at the university and enjoying every moment, embracing the opportunity I have received,” she said.
