Mpumalanga DoE rolls out e-learning tablets
Learners in Mpumalanga are receiving e-learning tablets as the province advances digital education and equal access to learning
The provincial distribution of e-learning tablets commenced in the Umjindi Circuit last Tuesday and will continue progressively across all circuits, with the programme expected to be completed by the end of July.
The tablets have been fully configured and loaded with the necessary educational content, including e-books, offline learning applications, supplementary electronic support materials, including past examination papers.

Through the programme, the Department of Education (DoE) is ensuring that learners in Mpumalanga have equal access to high-quality education, are equipped to thrive in an increasingly digital world, and are able to compete confidently with their peers across South Africa and globally.
The MEC for education, Lindi Masina, said the initiative marks another significant milestone in the DoE’s commitment to advancing digital education, bridging the digital divide, and ensuring equitable access to quality learning opportunities for all learners, regardless of their geographical location or socio-economic background.
She said that she is confident this investment in technology will enhance teaching and learning, empower learners with critical 21st-century skills, and improve educational outcomes across the province.
