Mahushu DJ Simphiwe Prince Mashaba prepares for Mbombela Stadium show
The 19-year-old entertainer built his brand by playing at small local events without equipment or funding.
Simphiwe Prince Mashaba (19), popularly known as DJ Prince RSA, is already making a name for himself in Mpumalanga’s entertainment industry.
Mashaba is currently balancing his Grade 12 studies with his music career while preparing for his upcoming show at Mbombela Stadium. He said he hopes to take his sound beyond South Africa while proudly representing Mpumalanga.
“For me, this is more than music; it is proof that pain can become purpose, and persistence can turn a dream into reality,” he said. “We’re not done yet.”

DJ starts with no equipment
Born and raised in Mahushu, Mashaba began his music journey in 2020 with nothing but passion, determination and a dream.
He started by playing at small gatherings and local events, learning through every mistake and opportunity. With no equipment, money or industry connections, he often performed for free simply to be heard. There were difficult times when he questioned whether the dream was possible, but he remained humble, consistent and committed.
Inspired by artists such as Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, Mashaba discovered the power music has to unite people, make them smile and temporarily forget their struggles. Now, as a professional DJ and MC, he describes his performances simply: “When I get to the stage, I give vibes. I don’t play.”

Dance floor validates dream
The road to building the DJ Prince RSA brand has not been easy. Yet every challenge has strengthened his purpose. Seeing a full dance floor respond to his music reminds him of the young boy who started with a dream and a prayer.
“Seeing people dance to my music makes me believe that dreams come true. Giving up is not an option. You need to keep moving forward and believe that everything happens for a reason,” he said.
