Editor’s weekly views on issues affecting the community

Anyway, communities are so used to it, it's part of the game, but it has to change!

There’s a war for votes out there, which many have anticipated. Such bitter is the battle, that organisations are prepared to go all out to convince the electorate to vote them into power.

We’ve seen lately that some brave political parties like Julius Malema’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have started unveiling their candidates, who will be in charge of different functions, especially the elections next year which are under the command of former ANC youth league member here in the province, Godrick Gardee.

The DA still has its leadership intact and raring to go for it, whilst Cope is busy fighting on two fronts fo their two factions nationally. A lot stands to be seen from newcomers Agang SA, who, some pundits have precited that it would attract professionals, academics and scholars into their ranks as it stands to open up opportunities for them in the future.

You still have your PAC, UDM, IFP and many others to choose from.

A word of caution though, is that never be taken by emotions to choose a party to go along with, but look at all its merits, history and legacy and prospects of making it even if it’s a new organisation. The bottom line here is that there’s a future to lead and there’s a better life to attain and sustain.

There are real issues to be addressed and implemented, but politicians being politicians, your bet is as good as mine, they will forever convince you factually which such and such couldn’t be delivered or impemented.

Right now they are tackling corruption by the horn, a thing that has not been ever thought of ever.  Not coming from them, but the forthcoming elections have made them to come out of their cacoons and speak and act against corruption at all costs, to an extent of even alienating themselves from their own comrades.

That’s politics for you, but post-elections, it’s back to square one for the next four years and we will be back in this scenario, five years from now when they are serving their last year in office.
