Right down the line: Matsulu Rugby Club a force to be reckoned with

Chairman Petros Sambo did not jinx anything by saying there were greater chances they may win the title.

We must put it out there that Matsulu Rugby Club is a strong team to be reckoned with. This is after they won the Phakisa Lowveld Mayor’s Reserve League in Barberton on Saturday.

They recently established the team and they are already heading for the top honours. Chairman Petros Sambo did not jinx anything by saying there were greater chances they may win the title. They went to Barberton and they pulled it off. What is special about this team is that they have limited resources and yet they manage to clinch the title. I believe this is a sweet victory for the gents after putting in hard work. Congratulations are in order and this victory will make an impact on the club. Meanwhile, on the football pitch, George Lebese is now a free agent after he left Mamelodi Sundowns after a miserable stay.

He was not getting any game time and could not find his footing in the team. This has become a very sad story for Lebese and it seems as though his career is dwindling bit by bit. He is 30 years old and is only left with about two seasons until he can retire from professional football. I wonder what went wrong? Is there a dark cloud above him? Because even SuperSport has no intention of signing him, even when he was loaned to them. I hope this wave of misfortune ends, because it is not looking good at all. Jeremy Brockie was also loaned to Maritzburg. I hope the same thing does not happen to him and hopefully, he will add value to the team of choice.
